Toyota's cute small car AYGO X appeared in new clothes! On June 2, 2025, Toyota unveiled the AYGO X FaceLift model for the first time, and the GR SPORT trim was introduced for the first time. In the European A-segment market, Volkswagen Group's VW UP!, Skoda Citigo, Seat Mii disappeared, AYGO X is filling the vacancy nicely. GR SPORT shows off its sporty charm, which is perfect for young drivers and people who enjoy short and bold in the city.

This time the powertrain has changed. The original 1.0-liter engine is goodbye, and upgrade to the 1.5-liter engine taken from Yaris! In addition, the five-speed manual transmission can only be chosen by Pa Epa now. This new engine has reduced 0-100 km/h acceleration from 14.9 seconds to 10 seconds. Wow, this is not a real speed joke. In addition, Toyota made AYGO X the only full hybrid in this class. The CO2 emissions are 86g/km, which is an eco-friendly champion among cars, not plug-in hybrids.

The car is a little longer to put the hybrid system. The front overhang is 76mm, and the total length is still 3.7m. But the battery placement was really smart. Toyota first stacked two battery cells on the bottom of the rear seat to use the space clearly. This will allow you to clap less trunks and take advantage of hybrids.

The Grr Sport trim adds a bad season to AYGO X. The front bumper has become more sleek, and the GR badge shines. The suspension will also be sporty to drive more exciting. This is an entry-class model of Gazoo Racing, not hardcore like GR or GRMN, but it's still cool. The interior has a familiar steering wheel, infotainment system, and intuitive air conditioning panel. It's just neat and cooked in your hands.

But nothing is perfect. The rear seats are a bit cramped. In particular, if you choose the canvas loop option, your headspace becomes more frustrating. In the past, in the Moose Test, AYGO X had a slight ESC response, and the Michelin E-PRIMACY tire was focused on efficiency. Still, GR Sport's new suspension and powerful engine are expected to cover this.
