Today we are going to talk about an interesting and somewhat shocking incident. A lady took her brand new Toyota Tundra to the Dealership for an Oil Change and what happened there will shock you. Gabbattack (@gabbattackkk) is the TikTok user who shared her experience.

She took her husband Jesse to the Cerritos Toyota dealership, AutoNation for an Oil Change. The service took about 4 hours and cost $120. After all was done and they got home, the real story began. When they got home, Jesse tried to put a skid plate under the truck.

And then he noticed the entire underside of the truck was covered in mud. They went around to the off-roads and outdoors so the mud wouldn’t be visible.

So it’s not that surprising. But where was the red flag? Even after the Oil Change, the Oil Filter and the bolt that held it was covered in mud too. Gabbattack and Jesse thought maybe they didn’t actually change the oil. "I don’t see a new oil filter" she said.

Jesse decided to go back to the Dealership and ask about it. This video went viral on TikTok with over 429,000 views and many people commented with their advice. Some said to mark the oil filters. Others said Dealers are scary, so it’s better to do it yourself.

Others said this isn’t limited to Toyota Dealers, Nissan and Honda owners have experienced this too. One Honda dealership didn’t rotate the tires and said the oil is not fresh. Also report to BAR. How to prove to customers that you serviced their cars properly? Here are some ways.

First, ask for detailed invoice of every service, parts and fluids used. Before you leave the Dealership, check the vehicle. Mainly look for signs that the oil is clean or not, new filters or not, or if other work was done. Talk to the Technician and ask what was done and ask for the old parts back.

You can also put a maintenance checklist and track against the dealership records to see what services were done when. This is really frustrating, especially if it’s a new vehicle and it’s happening at the Dealer itself. You pay for the service and the service is not done, that’s really disappointing and infuriating.
