The 2025 Ford F-150 Lobo is a new kind of pickup truck. It is made to run fast on the road. Earlier Ford trucks were known for running off-road, like Tremor and Raptor. But Lobo is specially designed to give good performance on the road. It reminds of the SVT Lightning truck of the 90s.
Nowadays Ford's electric pickup truck is also called Lightning. That electric truck has up to 580 horsepower. But it does not have those special features that a street truck has. Ford designer Josh Blundo says that the height of the vehicle in a street truck is low, its look is very powerful. The F-150 Lobo also has a V-8 engine and two exhaust pipes.
That's why every F-150 Lobo has a special naturally aspirated 5.0-liter V-8 engine. This engine puts out 400 horsepower and 410 pound-feet of torque. It comes standard with all-wheel drive. It also has an upgraded automatic two-speed transfer case.
This Lobo doesn't just look good, it can work too. It can tow up to 1450 pounds. It can also tow a trailer weighing up to 7900 pounds. You can get this same V-8 engine in other F-150 models, but only the Lobo's look is different.

Ford made changes to the Lobo's suspension. This has lowered the rear ride by two inches. It also has a 10-piece body kit that makes it sit even lower. It doesn't sit as low as the old gasoline Lightning trucks, though. The new street truck also rides on special black 22-inch wheels. It rides on Bridgestone Alenza all-seasons tires that are 275/50.
The exterior looks don't end there. Ford has also given the Lobo a muscle-car-like cowl hood. It also has black hood vents. Black badges on the front fenders, black barrel-like exhaust tips and a black rear bumper add to the muscle look. The front of the Lobo is very different from your contractor's F-150. It has a body-color front bumper with a large lower grille. The upper grille has a special mesh with lights in the center that connect to the headlamps.

On the inside, the Lobo gets cloth seats with yellow stitching. The center-console lid is made of leather. The dashboard is covered in a racing-looking material. There’s a digital gauge cluster in front of the driver. There’s also a larger 12.0-inch touchscreen infotainment system, like you get on other F-150s.
Ford didn’t say what options will be available for the Lobo, but it is available in five paint colors: Agate Black Metallic, Atlas Blue Metallic, Carbonized Gray, Oxford White and Rapid Red Metallic Tinted Clearcoat. The Lobo comes as a package on the STX trim of the F-150. It requires a crew-cab (SuperCrew) body style to make it a street truck, as well as a 5.5-foot cargo bed and the aforementioned V-8, all-wheel-drive system.
The 2025 Ford F-150 Lobo starts at $59,995. It will be built at Ford’s Dearborn, Michigan factory. It will be available for sale in the autumn this year.
