This year is only four models for Buick in America. A fifth model Electra E5 Ev was scheduled to arrive in 2024 but General Motors has stopped the plan. This happened because the company has decided to slow down its EV goals. No new information has been received about the first EV of Buick for America. Meanwhile, Electra E5 is getting many new updates in China on the other side of the world.
The new Buick Electra E5 in China has reported 47 reforms. These improvement cars are in the design performance smart technology and everyday facilities. The most important thing is that this will be the first car to come with updated Ultium 2.0 platform. The name of this 'Ultium 2.0' is no longer used in America. This new EV architecture can support the maximum voltage of around 900V which means it will be charged very fast.

It is really charged very fast. The Electra E5 gets a 217 mile range by stopping 10 minutes at the charging station. This model has a 6C lithium iron phosphate (LFP) fast-beaching battery. This battery is made by Saic General Motors and CATL. This new battery gives a driving range of more than 373 miles once full charge, which has been measured on a CLTC bicycle. It is important to note that the range of the old model was 339 or 385 miles.
The new form of Buick Electra E5 also shows the Pure Design Language of Buick. The design was first seen in the Electra-X Concept in 2023. This car has a smooth off grill. It has been made slightly clean compared to the old model. There has been no change in its measurement and it is smaller than Buick Enclave in size. Other reforms include 18- or 19-inch new wheels and shining Chrome Accents that have replaced shiny black window lining. The lineup of the Electra E5 in China has also been simplified, now it is only a single-motor version. This model gives 241 horsepower and moves on the front wheels.
General Motors has not yet given any new update to the US about the position of Electra E5. Even after this, the sale of Buick in the US is not poor. The recent sales figures of the first three months of 2025 show good results. During this period, this luxury brand sold much more than Cadillac. It sold 61,822 vehicles, which is an increase of 39.3% compared to 2024.
