Ford has issued a recall for approximately 28,000 Ford Bronco four-door SUVs. This recall is related to the safety of children as there may be a problem with child safety locks. These locks should work correctly, but they probably don't.

This means that children sitting in the back can open the door even when it should remain closed. If you have children at home, this information is very important for you. This recall specifically affects 27,768 units of the 2024 and 2025 model year Ford Bronco.

This recall may seem a little strange because it's for the Ford Bronco, a vehicle that you can drive with the doors removed. It is designed so that you can enjoy the outdoors to the fullest, with only a thin nylon strap between you and the open sky. For this reason, this vehicle is probably not considered the best for children. Ford isn't saying their car is unsafe, they're simply saying it's not cool to drive without doors when there's a kid in the back.

Ford discovered on May 1, 2025, that the left rear child locks were not working. This came to light during an audit. The company had found out since January that some cars were made with parts that were not of the right size. The problem was that the manufacturing process of the latch hole inside the back door on the left side had slightly deviated from its correct measurement.

Along with this, some other parts were also not of the right size, which can cause a malfunction in the "child lock latch mechanism." So, even if the child lock appears' on ', it may not actually be working, which may cause the back door to open.

The good thing is that Ford has not received any customer complaints or reports of any accidents related to this problem. This recall is an attempt by the company to improve its quality control. To fix this, customers will need to take their Ford Bronco to a Ford or Lincoln dealer. Dealers will check the locks and replace the latch with a new mechanism if needed.

This new mechanism avoids any kind of interruption. Dealers have been told about this recall this week, and letters to customers will be sent from June 25. The Ford recall number is 25S64 and the NHTSA recall number is 25V397.

This event could actually be a positive sign for Ford. This is because Ford discovered this strange problem very quickly. The most important thing is that it was discovered by the factory workers before the customers knew it. Ford took just over a month to diagnose, recall and fix the problem. This is a big progress for the company that has been at the forefront of recalling the most vehicles for the last five years.
