Lincoln introduced a special Continental model to make its 80th anniversary special. In 2019, the company manufactured 80 vehicles and sent them to showrooms immediately. However, Lincoln underestimated customer interest, as all of these cars sold out in just 48 hours. This shows how much demand there was for these special sedan cars. Given this huge demand, Lincoln built 150 more cars for the 2020 model year.

The most special thing about these special Continental trains was the "suicide doors" behind them, which opened backwards. These doors made it very easy to get in and out of the car. The company has lengthened the wheelbase of the car by six inches.

This allowed more room for the knees and feet of the rear passengers. These long, rear-hinged doors were inspired by the 1961 Continental four-door. All of these changes were made by a Massachusetts firm, Cabot Coach Builders.

Attention was paid to the comfort of the passengers inside the vehicle. The rear seats had two separate seats that were heated and ventilated. They also had power support and bending facility for the waist. There was also a control console in between these seats.

The seats for the driver and front passenger were heated, ventilated, power-adjustable and massaged. There were also sun blinds and a power-deployable sunshade on the rear window to maintain privacy inside. For entertainment, it also had a 19-speaker Revel Ultima audio system and SYNC 3 infotainment system.

The Continental is powered by a twin-turbocharged 3.0 -liter V6 engine. This engine produces 400 horsepower and 400 pound-feet of torque. It is mated to a six-speed SelectShift automatic transmission that sends power to all four wheels.

For the driver, it has a digital instrument cluster, with the speedometer showing up to 160 mph. The car comes with 20-inch alloy wheels and Goodyear Eagle tyres, while the adaptive suspension makes the ride even more comfortable.

Currently, one such 2019 Lincoln Continental 80th Anniversary Coach Door Edition is available for sale. The car comes in Infinite Black Metallic colour with Alpine Venetian leather interior. The train has travelled 31,000 miles so far.

It was bought by a New Jersey dealer in August 2024, when its oil was also changed. The car comes with an accident-free Carfax report and a clean Kentucky title. When this cart was new, it cost 10,000, while now its highest bid has reached $44,750.
